One of the main goals of Carrefour is the dedication of its efforts towards the society and the development on Saudi Arabia, in order to become a leading effective part of the society, and this is clearly shown by the contribution of Carrefour in Saudization, which created success that adds up to Carrefour’s efforts and again leaves a mark in its journey towards the society.
Since Carrefour was launched in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , Carrefour always strongly believed in its responsibility towards the society while keeping in mind the conditions of every society at where it is present. That is why Carrefour always contributed in the development of the society.
Carrefour sensed the ambition of the youth in Saudi. Therefore, it believed in the strong potential, responsibility and perseverance they possessed. As a result, Carrefour pursed a well-structured strategy to hire and train based on an academic scheme in order to be parallel to the racing developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through establishing a specialized business unit that seeks to provide the proper jobs for the Saudi youth of both gendres. As a consequence, Carrefour has hired lately a few young ladies to work as cashiers in Jeddah’s and Khobar’s branches. All of this was supported by establishing several courses to qualify and train the candidates to maintain the distinction and the uniqueness of their human resources, and the sophistication of their services provided to their customers. This was a result to receiving a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Labour in regards of the above contribution and being an effective part of the society, where the Saudi employees in Carrefour represent 30% of the total number of staff, with a plan to raise this figure to 50% by 2015.
